Birthday Special: Throwback on Sonam Kapoor’s Top Looks!

Happy B’day, Sonam Kapoor! The impeccable fashionista, who has been casted in movies like ‘Aisha’, Raanjhanaa’ and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, turns 29 today. On this day, the style heavyweights at Jabong, tell you exactly why we dig Ms. Kapoor’s style statement.

"Jabong Shopping Online"

After losing oodles of weight, this stunner has given us multiple occasions to ogle at her ethereal features and fabulous body, flaunting a versatile creation, each time. From ramp walks, umpteen red carpet appearances at the Cannes Film Festival, to gracing countless magazine covers, she has done it all!

In an interview, Sonam confesses that her key style tip is to work a daring trend in a classic, feminine silhouette. She weaved the magic with her versatile style statement, in a casual Mirage printed skirt and crop top by Parul Bharghava. She scores a 10 on 10 for finishing off this chic look, with D & G bag and strappy sandals. In this black, Elie Saab creation at an awards function, Sonam looks every inch, the part of a sultry diva. The regal up-do, smoky eyes and ear cuffs looked bewitching on this enigmatic beauty. Subtle-yet-eye-catching, she charmed one and all, at the Barbara Casasola Fall 2013, in a two tone lavender, and deep purple crepe de chine pleated dress. That infectious smile and sparkle in her eyes… we are a fan for life! Speaking of fans, we are just growing a little envious, seeing her well-toned abs in the Anamika Khanna ensemble, before a shoot for L’Oreal Paris. We may not be blessed with her fashion-forward wardrobe, but we sure can splurge on the collection of cropped Jabong tops for women! The highlight of the actress’s glamorous moments has to be the Cannes Film Festival. Sonam demonstrates, just why, there is no competition when it comes to topping the style charts. We just love how flawlessly; she carries off the asymmetric detailing of the Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown, at Cannes 2011."Shopping Online at Jabong"It was an Abu-Sandeep mirror work saree appearance that did wonders to her sharp Indian features. The hairdo, high-neck blouse, and cylindrical silver clutch only proved the iconic cult status of this fashionable lady. Whoa! Once you have taken your eyes off that curvaceous frame, go on, and ogle at the heavily embellished creation by Manish Malhotra. We must admit, no one could carry off those fishtails, with the red ghaghra-choli, as well as this graceful diva does! The radiant beauty went all desi in a white floor-length Rohit Bal anarkali at the success party of ‘Raanjhana’. The kundan earrings and neat tied-back hair, added brownie points to her ultra-glam look. Who says the ‘Masakali’ beauty cannot carry off Indian attire? She looked her scintillating best in a Masaba multi-coloured saree at the 2nd edition of L’Oreal Paris Femina Women Awards 2013. Emulate a similar look with the wide range of multi-coloured sarees in our collection of Jabong Sarees!

Do you prefer Sonam in western attire or Indian attire? Give us a shout-out!

French Open 2014: Fashion Hits and Misses

It’s yet another unpredictable, and wild Grand Slam event that brought interesting twists and turns, throughout the tournament. We aren’t complaining as the players brought their best game, to entertain the Parisian crowd. The stars looked sharp, both on and off the field, with interesting prints, hues and textures, getting the nod from the fashion-forward fashionistas in Paris. Jabong.com takes a look on how the top sporting brands decided to deck their stars on the red clay event of French Open, this year."french open one at Jabong"(Clockwise from L-R): Ana Ivanovic, Serena Willams, Maria Sharapova, Venus Willams and Agnieszka Radwanska

Navy blue has always been a traditionally compatible hue on the red clay court. Adidas put on its thinking hat, and churned this lovely navy blue dress with asymmetrical neckline, finishing off with an interesting multi-coloured design at the back. Ana Ivanovic worked it well on the court. We are left wondering…how do we say “mighty cute!” in Serbian? Serena Williams never fails to astonish us with her spot-on sartorial choices. Her yellow-and-gray dress with an A-line cut and flared skirt, designed by Nike, flattered her skin tone and hourglass figure. The high waist band and matching sneakers, make this ensemble a complete winner. Pity, she was knocked out in round two, or we could have been thoroughly entertained with her classic style statements.

Maria Sharapova, has stormed into the finals, showing us that she is not yet finished. It’s her third consecutive final at the Roland Garros, and she continues to charm us in the Nike Women’s Summer Maria Premier French Tunic.  Her look is inspired by a palette of sophisticated neutrals, juxtaposed with a pop of colour on the Swoosh.  Venus Williams, owns a clothing company, EleVen, which helped her to come up with classically modern sportswear. Aren’t we glad that this is not Wimbledon? The players need not only dress up in whites! This outfit is from the racks of ‘Aurora’ which is all fun and floral, thoroughly suiting her long and lean silhouette. But we got to give the trophy to Agnieszka Radwanska! The vivid, floral printed dress looks fresh and colourful on her slim, svelte figure. Credit to Lotto for this radiating, resplendent work on the Polish beauty! If you also want to be fashion-fit, check out our clothing for women at Jabong and play the game in style!"french open 2014 at Jabong "(Clockwise from L-R): Elina Svitolina, Aleksandra Wozniak, Simona Halep and Jelena Jankovic

Aleksandra Wozniak opted for a shabby, ill-fitting look, which really didn’t befit her young, petite frame. She pushed it too far, with this understated, straight-from-the-cleaners look. Elina Svitolina’s look was reminiscent of a spring bouquet, gone wrong! The light pink patterned dress demonstrates how too much of something, does hurt the eye. This is #fashionfail at its worst!

I have noticed Jelena Jankovic’s penchant for thinking out of the box, but only this time, the fashion risk didn’t pay off! The monochrome stripe-centric dress courtesy Fila’s Heritage collection, doesn’t hit the sweet spot. Simona Halep became the first Romanian woman since 1980, to reach a Grand Slam singles final. Unfortunately, she scores low on the style quotient. The orange and purple attire, lacked the buzz and stir that she created with her excellent game-play. Bad move, Adidas!

Ace or Double Fault? How would these tennis stars score in your view? Jabong would love to hear your comments!
